A life as a serial entrepreneur in healthcare

My name is Magin Eduardo Blasi Blanchard. I have been a serial entrepreneur in the healthcare industry for most of my life, with additional investments in real estate and financial services. I am based in Miami, Florida.

Healthcare was the starting point and it is still the axis. In 2000 I founded Servicios de Gerencia Hospitalaria (SGH) to operate hospitals and clinics across Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador under a private-management model with measurable standards. For thirteen years SGH ran high-complexity units, operating rooms, ICUs and oncology programs in places where chronic inefficiency had been the norm.

From operating to producing

By 2013 the next step was obvious. If we understood hospital demand better than anyone, we had to move into the supply chain. That is how Beckon Scientific was born: a pharmaceutical company focused on specialty distribution, oncology and high-cost products, run with a single obsession — unbroken cold chain, full traceability, zero stock-outs.

From healthcare to finance

In 2020, already established in the United States, I co-founded BANCA Financial Group, a mortgage banking firm serving Latin American families buying property in Florida. The same operational discipline — clear processes, strict compliance, data-driven decisions — translates surprisingly well from an operating room to a credit desk.

Why I write

This blog exists for two reasons. First, to put in writing what 25 years in regulated sectors have taught me about operations, risk and company building. Second, because online my name has been surrounded by politically motivated noise since 2020; I would rather anyone who searches for me find my real work first, told in my own voice.
